Workplace Fairness Stands With AA/PI Community Against Racism and Gender-Violence
WASHINGTON (March 24, 2020) – On March 16, eight people were killed in Atlanta, Georgia, including six Asian-American/Pacific Islander (AA/PI) women. We have witnessed too many of these senseless and tragic incidents in the United States, a constant reminder of the vulnerability that BIPOC individuals and communities face. News reports cite that racially motivated extremists pose the greatest threat in our country. We must remain resilient and continue to lend our collective voices to advocate for justice and equality.
We have all witnessed a surge in hate crime against AA/PI communities since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Stop AAPI Hate reports that nearly 3,800 instances of discrimination have occurred against Asians in the past year. Workplace Fairness mourns, with their co-workers, friends, family and others, the loss of the victims:
