Media Advisory: Workplace Fairness Provides Resources About Registering to Vote, Other Needed Information About Voting

Workplace Fairness is #1 Most Comprehensive Online Resource for Information About Workplace Rights

WASHINGTON (Oct. 19, 2020) – Dear Journalists: Please share this time-sensitive message from Workplace Fairness with your readers.

WHO:The national nonprofit, Workplace Fairness (WF), advocates for workers' rights and offers resources workers can use.

WHAT & WHERE:

Workplace Fairness has compiled information here from various government resources to provide information needed to register to vote.

Visit Vote.gov to register to vote. Each state makes its own voting and election rules, including when and how to register. Check with state or local election office to get the most detailed and up-to-date information.

WHY:

The freedom and ability to vote is one of America’s most important political rights outside of the original Bill of Rights. The Voting Rights Act—combined with subsequent legislation such as the National Voter Registration Act, which requires state agencies to provide opportunities for voter registration—has helped us make significant progress in boosting voting by Americans and historically marginalized groups. Voting is one of the primary ways that demands for change are translated into action. Voting for leaders and legislators can have significant impacts on rights for workers and individuals.
