WASHINGTON (June 21, 2021) – Workplace Fairness continues to provide resources for workers about their rights, including about participating in peaceful protests.
The national nonprofit, Workplace Fairness (WF), advocates for workers' rights and millions of workers in all 50 states rely on Workplace Fairness for information about their workplace rights.
During a webinar on February 4, employment lawyers Andrew Melzer and Whittney Barth at the law firm of Sanford, Heisler & Sharp, LLP discussed their research on whether employees can be fired for participating in peaceful protests. This article explores whether employees fired for engaging in peaceful protests would have a valid legal action for wrongful termination, and examines potential legal avenues for bringing such a claim.
